Bring the logbook you already have
The stack of paper in a drawer is the real reason divers never change apps. Dyvo reads five sources — paper, files, Garmin, Apple Watch and Bluetooth — and funnels every one of them into the same review sheet, where you fix what a parser could not read before anything is saved. Your first bulk import is free and uncapped.
Five ways in
A photographed paper logbook
Point the camera at a page. Recognition runs entirely on your iPhone — nothing is uploaded. Dyvo reads forms and tables, handles two dives stacked on one sheet, carries a facing notes page onto the dive it belongs to, and reads labels in the Latin-script languages it ships in.
UDDF files
The export format of Shearwater Cloud, Subsurface, Diving Log and most of the rest. A tolerant streaming reader, so a partly-written file still yields its dives.
Garmin FIT
Descent and fēnix files, straight from Connect’s Export Original — including the zip it hands you, and the zip-of-zips an account export is. Chained files, either endianness, compressed timestamps and third-party fields are all handled.
Apple Watch Ultra

Straight off a dive computer
Download dives over Bluetooth LE from supported computers, built on libdivecomputer. You pick your model once and Dyvo remembers it.

The rule the importer is built on
Take what can be established. Leave the rest blank. Never guess a value into a field.
An importer that invents plausible numbers is worse than one that gives up, because you cannot tell which dives to check. So Dyvo rejects an implausible reading rather than clamping it to something believable; a dive whose page photographed badly arrives flagged rather than silently wrong; a page whose column headings cannot be mapped is refused outright instead of filed one column across; and a dive whose date could not be read is still imported — held back in the review sheet until you set the date, rather than thrown away along with its site, depth and bottom time.
Nothing absent is invented either. A Garmin file names the gas but not the cylinder, so no tank size is fabricated. A coordinate is turned into a place name (“Roatán, Honduras”) because that is derivable; the reef’s name is not, so the site field is left for you.

One tap per dive: in or out
Every parsed dive is a row you keep or drop. Editing lives behind its own button so the decision the screen exists for stays one tap.
Edit in the real dive form
Fixing an import opens the same form you fill in every other day — the same site picker, the same coordinate picker, the same unit conversions. Not a second, lesser editor.
Set one position, fill forty dives
A paper logbook is usually one home site or one trip. Set a coordinate and Dyvo offers it to every other unedited row naming the same site — rows you already edited are left alone.
What lands in the logbook
Depth profiles
Dives from a computer, a FIT file or an Apple Watch carry their depth-over-time samples and draw a chart on the dive detail.
The right timezone
A Garmin file records one moment in both UTC and local time; their difference is the site’s offset. A Roatán dive still reads 9:02 AM on a phone that has flown home.
Badges, retroactively
Badges are judged against your whole logbook every time it changes, so an import awards everything it earned — each one pinned to the dive that did it.
Trips, already grouped
Trips are derived from dates and distances, so an imported logbook arrives already sorted into the trips it actually was. There is no trip screen to fill in.
Import limits
Importing is how a logbook gets moved, so the first move is free and uncapped — the whole stack of paper, the whole Garmin export, however many dives that is.
